Eirik Graue
Eirik has more than 35 years of experience from the oil and gas business. He graduated from University of Bergen in 1985 with a Cand. Scient degree in Geology (sedimentology).
Key competence: Prospect evaluation, reservoir and engineering, seismic well tie and mapping, pressure evaluation.
Background: After 3 years with Norsk Hydro exploration department he joined Statoil and the Gullfaks production department in 1988. For 8 years he was involved in well evaluation, updating models and planning new wells on the main field. In 1996 as the Gullfaks Satellites project started up in Bergen, he joined this project for four years, of which the last three years as leader of the G&G team. From 2000 to 2008 Eirik had the Tampen South (Gullfaks area) near field exploration responsibility. In this period the Skinfaks, Gulltopp and Gimle fields was discovered and put on production.
In 2008 he joined Rocksource in Bergen. The first two years he worked internationally involved in the company’s global screening for CSEM suitable basins. He had an active role in building up Rocksource’ capability of drilling wells on NSC as operator. Two wells were drilled operational successful (2011 and 2013) in this period with Rocksource as operator. In 2013 Eirik took over the APA responsibility in the company. He held several committee positions, both as exploration and management chairman in Rocksource’ operated licenses.
For more than 20 years Eirik has frequently worked as wellsite geology on the NCS.
Espen Oen Lie
Espen has more than 15 years experience from the oil and gas business, primarily in research and development. He holds a Master of Science (Sivilingeniør) in applied physics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Organizational Management both from NTNU in 2005.
Key competence: 4D seismic, seismic data quality, 4D timeshift, pre and poststack inversion, seismic attributes and prototype building on workstation and HPC cluster.
Background: Despite a rather theoretical education in quantym physics Espen wrote his Project thesis on anisotropic CSEM forward modelling with Statoil and Diploma thesis on seismic processing with Sintef. In 2005 he started at Norsk Hydros Research Center in reservoir geophysics. During the almost 10 years at the Hydro / StatoilHydro / Statoil Research Center he worked on well to seismic scale issue, 4D timeshift, spectral blending, seismic inversion, velocity estimation for migration and multidisciplinary integration of reservoir model, geomodel and seismic.
The research resulted in 4 software modules qualified and deployed full scale on workstation and HPC cluster. Espen also holds 3 patents in 4D seismic and seismic attributes.
In 2015 Espen joined Rocksource and participated in the 2015 APA applications and starting to build up the company's internal seismic post processing capacity before the Bergen office was closed.
